BodyTite is an innovative, minimally invasive liposuction procedure. It works by using RFAL (radiofrequency assisted liposuction) to dissolve and remove unwanted fat from the body. At the same time, the radiofrequency used in BodyTite helps improve skin laxity, giving an overall tighter appearance.
The procedure is less invasive than other surgeries (for example, a tummy tuck or gastric bypass). Recovery time is typically also much shorter. Unlike surgery, BodyTite doesn’t leave behind large unwanted scars.
You may also hear BodyTite referred to as RFAL, or RF-assisted liposuction. This refers to the radiofrequency (FR) method used during BodyTite.
At The Loudoun Center for Plastic Surgery in Ashburn, VA, this procedure is performed by board–certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael J. Brown. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Brown to learn more about BodyTite and other weight loss procedures.

Many people have sagging skin, or regions of excess fat. They may hope to fix this but are put off by invasive surgery procedures with long recovery periods. If this sounds like you, BodyTite could be the right option.
BodyTite is often beneficial for those who would like to see improved skin tightness and more dramatic contours in one or multiple regions of the body. It can also help people looking to enhance the appearance of loose, wrinkled, or sagging skin.
BodyTite treatment areas include:
During your consultation, Dr. Brown will listen to your aesthetic goals and concerns to help determine if BodyTite is the best option for you.
Typically, BodyTite is performed using local anesthesia. If you are feeling nervous, or are treating multiple area, you may choose general anesthesia instead. This will be discussed beforehand, during your consultation.
Once the procedure is underway, Dr. Brown will insert a specially designed BodyTite applicator beneath the skin, via a small incision. This applicator works by loosening and liquifying the fat, using radiofrequency energy which moves between two probes attached to the other end of the applicator.
Once the fat is liquified, it becomes easy to remove, and the excess fat is sucked out through a tube.
The applicator works to keep the procedure safe by guarding against burns with both an external and internal thermometer.
The heat used during the fat elimination process also works by tightening the skin and connective tissue, for instant aesthetic improvements. Typically, the procedure takes only 30 – 45 minutes per treatment area. For the best outcome, Dr. Brown may recommend or require more than one session.
Recovery time from BodyTite is typically 5 – 10 days. After surgery, Dr Brown will provide you with a compression garment to wear on your treatment areas. This encourages healing, while also holding your new contours.
You may see some instant improvements to your appearance after surgery. However, final result won’t be apparent for several months, until inflammation and swelling are gone.
Fat removed during your BodyTite procedure cannot grow back, but it is still possible to gain weight after the procedure. To maintain your positive BodyTite results, it’s important to keep a healthy, steady weight following the procedure.
The cost of the procedure depends on many factors, including the size and number of areas being treated. For an accurate cost analysis, schedule a consultation with Dr. Brown.
During our consultation, we can assess your goals and concerns and determine the number of sessions needed. At this time, a member of our team will be able to discuss costs and inform you of your payment options.
BodyTite is an excellent option for a patient who wishes to receive dramatic results but is not quite ready for the downtime or scars that may accompany a lift surgery or traditional liposuction.
Patients who may need significant amounts of skin removed, or are looking for lasting or more dynamic results may find tummy tucks or lower body lifts may be the best option.
Radiofrequency is a form of radio waves that consist of electric and magnetic energy controlled to deliver heat to an area of the body. The heat is controlled through safety-conscious thermometers that ensure our patients are not burned. During radiofrequency-assisted procedures, like BodyTite, the skin and fat tissues are warmed, resulting in a more contoured appearance.
BodyTite is FDA-approved and is considered safe and effective for health men and women.
The procedure is minimally invasive and does not require large incisions or a result in a lengthy recovery period. In many cases, patients feel well enough to return to their daily activities within days of their treatments.
Thanks to its minimally invasive nature, BodyTite is typically carries less risk than other surgical weight loss procedures
